Homemade Pudding
Ingredients
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
  • Very little amount of salt
directions
  1. Mix all ingredients in medium saucepan and stir until sweet potato starch is dissolved.
  2. Heat saucepan and continue to stir until mixture thickens.
  3. Turn to low heat, stir for 1 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and continue to stir for 1 minute.
  5. Cool before serving.

Sweet Potato Jelly
Ingredients
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
  • Very little amount of salt

  4. Spread jelly in a container.
  5. Chill before serving. Do not freeze.
Do you prefer soy milk? Simply replace milk with soy milk and adjust sugar amount if the soy milk is already sweetened.
Sweet Potato Jelly with Soy Milk
Follow the directions in Sweet Potato Jelly. Replace milk with soy milk and adjust sugar level if necessary.
Sweet Potato Jelly with Coffee
Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup coffee
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
  • Very little amount of salt
Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients in medium saucepan and stir until sweet potato starch is dissolved.
  2. Heat saucepan and continue to stir until mixture starts to jell.
  3. Turn to low heat and continue to stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Spread jelly in a container.
  5. Chill before serving. Do not freeze.
Sweet Potato Jelly with Tea
Ingredients
  • 1 and 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup black tea
  • 5 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
  • Very little amount of salt
Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients in medium saucepan and stir until sweet potato starch is dissolved.
  2. Heat saucepan and continue to stir until mixture starts to jell.
  3. Turn to low heat and continue to stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Spread jelly in a container.
  5. Chill before serving. Do not freeze.
Blank Sugar Sweet Potato Jelly
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup black sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 cup Abundant States Sweet Potato Starch
  • 3 and 1/2 cup water
  • Caramel (or maple syrup)
  • Roasted soy bean powder
Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients in medium saucepan and stir until sweet potato starch is dissolved.
  2. Heat saucepan and continue to stir until mixture starts to jell.
  3. A: Turn to low heat and continue to stir for 5 minutes. Spread jelly in a container. (Requires adequate stiring to make sure starch is fully cooked. An aternative is to steam. See B below.)
  4. B: Turn to low heat and continue to stir for 1 minutes. Spread jelly in a container and steam for 15 minutes.
  5. Chill in refrigerator. Do not freeze.
  6. Serve with caramel and roasted soy bean powder.
Traditional Unflavored Taiwan Sweet Potato Jelly
Ingredients
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients in medium saucepan and stir until sweet potato starch is dissolved.
  2. Heat saucepan and continue to stir until mixture starts to jell.
  3. A: Turn to low heat and continue to stir for 5 minutes. Spread jelly in a container. (Requires adequate stiring to make sure starch is fully cooked. An aternative is to steam. See B below.)
  4. B: Turn to low heat and continue to stir for 1 minutes. Spread jelly in a container and steam for 15 minutes.

Sweet Potato Drink
Ingredients
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 table spoons brown sugar
  • 1 table spoon Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients in medium saucepan.
  2. Heat saucepan and stir until starts to boil.
  3. Turn to low heat and continue to stir for 3 minutes.
Taro Pearls
Ingredients
  • Peeled taro
  • Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch (same amount or weight as taro)
  • Sweet potato drink (see recipe above), mung bean soup, small red bean soup, or grass jelly soup.
Directions
  1. Cut peeled taro into slices, place on a plate, and steam for 20 minutes.
  2. Crush sweet potato starch into smaller granular sizes.
  3. Mash cooked taro and mix with sweet potato starch, knead for 5 minutes..
  4. Roll a small portion of mixture into a long tube shap with 1/2 inch width.
  5. Cut tube shaped mixture into 1/2 inch segments (taro pearls).
  6. Boil water first. Cook taro pearls in boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Remove taro pearls from boiling water with strainer and place in cold water to cool down for 15 seconds.
  8. Serve in warm sweet potato drink, mung bean soup, small red bean soup, or grass jelly soup.
Double Sweet Potato Pearls
Follow the directions in Taro Pearls above. Replace taro with sweet potatoes.
Sweet Potato Pearls (also known as Tapioca Pearls)
Ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
  • 2 tablespoons Corn Syrup
  • Pot with cover
Directions
  1. Crush sweet potato starch into smaller granular sizes.
  2. Mix sweet potato starch and corn syrup.
  3. Roll a small portion of mixture into a long tube shap with 1/4 inch width.
  4. Cut tube shaped mixture into 1/8 inch segments. Make round shapes if you like. (Smaller pearls will reduce cooking time)
  5. Boil water first. Cook pearls in boiling water WITH COVER for 25 to 30 minutes. (Cover is very important in reducing cooking time)
  6. Remove a few pearls from boiling water with strainer and place in cold water to cool down.
  7. If the pearls become transparent or only a tiny white dot remains in the middle of the pearls, the pearls are ready. Otherwise, continue to cook.
  8. Serve in black milk tea, sweet potato drink, mung bean soup, small red bean soup, or grass jelly soup.
Oyster Omelette
Ingredients
  • Several Oysters(can be replaced by shrimps as well)
  • 2 jumbo eggs
  • 4 table spoons Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
  • 4 table spoons water
  • 3 table spoons corn or canola oil
  • Baby bok choy
  • Salt and pepper
Directions
  1. Whisk eggs in one bowl.
  2. In another bowl, mix in sweet potato starch, water, salt, and pepper. Stir until dissolved.
  3. Heat griddle to 300 degrees. Spread oil on griddle. Make sure there is enough oil for sweet potato starch to absorb.
  4. Put oysters on griddle, stir fry for 30 seconds.
  5. Pour starch mixture on top of and around oysters. Let it cook for 1 minute.
  6. Pour whisked eggs on top of oysters and starch. Add vegetable.
  7. Turn to other side. Continue until both sides are cooked.
  8. Serve with sweet chili sauce.
Sweet Potato and Egg Pancakes
Ingredients
  • 2 jumbo eggs
  • 4 table spoons Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
  • 4 table spoons water
  • 3 table spoons corn or canola oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions
  1. Whisk eggs in one bowl.
  2. In another bowl, mix sweet potato starch and water. Stir until dissolved.
  3. Mix eggs and salt into sweet potato and water mixture. Stir but do not over stir.
  4. Heat griddle to 300 degrees. Spread oil on griddle. Make sure there is enough oil for sweet potato starch to absorb.
  5. Stir mixture slightly, pour on the griddle to form a round shape.
  6. Turn to other side. Continue until both sides are cooked.

Oyster Egg Rolls
Ingredients
  • Sweet Potato and Egg Pancake (See recipe above)
  • Several oysters
  • 1 table spoon oil.
  • Pinch of salt
  • Sweet Chili Sauce (recommended)
Directions
  1. Heat griddle to 300 degrees. Spread oil on griddle.
  2. Place oysters on the griddle, add salt, and turn oysters as needed until fully cooked.
  3. Prepare Sweet Potato and Egg pancake separately.
  4. Place oysters on pancake. Roll or wrap.
  5. Serve with sweet chili sauce. (optional)
Shrimp Egg Rolls
Follow the directions in Oyster Egg Rolls above. Replace oysters with shrimps.

Ingredients
  • 1 and 5/8 cups pancake mix
  • Add 6 tablespoons Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch to make 2 cups mixture

Fried Chicken/Pork
Ingredients
  • Chicken or pork
  • Soy sauce
  • Garlic
  • Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
Directions
  1. Cut chicken or pork into small pieces (less than 1 inch in length and 1/2 inch in width)
  2. Marinate in soy sauce and diced garlic for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Press and turn chicken or pork on dry sweet potato starch until completely covered.
  4. Deep fry or pan fry until fully cooked.

Ingredients
  • Pork
  • Soy sauce
  • Garlic
  • Abundant States Taiwan Sweet Potato Starch
Directions
  1. Cut pork into small pieces (less than 1 inch in length and 1/2 inch in width)
  2. Marinate in soy sauce and diced garlic for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Press very hard and turn pork on dry sweet potato starch until completely covered. This step is very important to ensure flavor is sealed.
  4. Boil large amount of water. Put small amount of pork in boiling water until fully cooked.
  5. Serve with your favorite sauce or mix in a soup.
